Community Service with STEAM

Today's Adventure: We completed our Community Service STEAM project. We contacted our local animal hospital and asked what they needed this holiday season. They told us that more than anything the animals needed a comfy bed. So we went to work. We researched Veterinarians and Vet Techs as STEM careers. We researched the height, weight, length, and width of cats (the animal needing bedding). We sketched designs. We had a parent volunteer come in to cut our PVC pipes. We worked with a seamstress and in the end...we created beautifully comfy beds for the cats who are awaiting adoption! I dropped them off today and the Office Staff were blown away by these SEVEN AND EIGHT YEAR OLDS who created these designs all by themselves. They are looking to partner with us for the future! #STEAM
