I decided to explore some STEAM activities for parents to use at home and immediately thought of one of the BEST stay at home (and former teacher) moms I know. So, I called upon my great friend and fellow educator Adrienne Burnett and asked her to share some of the information about the wonderful outdoor play based program she is so passionate about. I have to say, after learning more about the program I'm in educator heaven!
Read about Adrienne's adventures in outdoor education below:

Tinkergarten was founded by a husband/wife duo who were educators and software developers in New York, and after becoming parents themselves were seeking ways to bring back the childhood like we had where days were spent outside exploring and playing! The goal of Tinkergarten is to engage children in the best setting (outdoor classroom) for busy little hands and feet, with well-designed, outdoor play-based activities. Through these activities children learn collaboration, creativity, and problem solving! Currently Tinkergarten is located in 34 states with 372 independent leaders teaching 28,281 children!
I completed training this past summer and launched my first season in the fall! Between each season I hold several free trial classes for families to come out and get a taste for what Tinkergarten is all about! I am currently in my second week of the winter season which runs every Friday from 10:00-11:15 until March 10! Classes meet at Newnan Utility Park/Carl Miller Park (74 Sewell Rd Newnan, GA). The spring season runs from April 14th-June 2nd (every Friday morning)! Families are welcome to come join any class to take a peek even if the season has already begun, simply email me through my webpage what day you are interested in trying! The cost is $140 for 8 week sessions and the price is prorated if you join after the season has started!
Starting this spring I will also be offering birthday party and scouting packages where I will host an activity of choice for your event! Please email for more information about parties!
