This is a STEAM Activity for young children. STEAM stands for Science Technology Engineering Art Math. STEAM teaches kids to think critically, create a plan, execute that plan, test a plan, revise a plan, and retest. It takes PRACTICE to do these things. We want students to think critically and stay focused on a task and do SOMETHING to try to solve a problem BUT we have to remember those behaviors are taught and therefore MUST BE practiced. The next World Changer will HAVE to be able to do more than add or subtract! They will have to add AND subtract by reading coordinates while hanging from a plane flying through different wind velocities! So HERE IS how it starts! Will you help your baby become a World Changer???
Watch the video and let me know what you think.
I created this for parents or caregivers to use at home. I intentionally chose items you have in your home(or items you can substitute easily), so that it didn't COST you all anything!!!
The Science in this is wind power The Technology used was the computer (as an interactive reading tool) The Engineering portion came from her designing her house (the paper bag and the amount needed inside the bag) The Art aspect was her creating her pig The Math was her figuring out distance, speed, and weight
