Hi Parents! Thanksgiving Break is upon us. Educator's are rejoicing for the MUCH needed down time. Not that we don't LOVE your babies, we absolutely DO! But now you get to LOVE on them for a week while we take a mental break from the busy school year. SO...what will you do with your little ones for 5 days?!!? Don't panic, I've got you covered! Go to the Dollar Tree (or local Dollar Store) for your supplies NOW. You won't spend more than $5.00! Happy Thanksgiving!!!
Day 1: Stuff the Turkey
You'll Need:
Brown paper bags from the grocery story (these are FREE! Just ask for them)
White plastic grocery bags (these are FREE! Just ask for some)
Tape
Task: Create a turkey shaped container to catch things in. Create turkey legs and attach it to the bag. Ball up the extra bag to make small balls. Let kids (indoors or outdoors) try to make as many points s possible by tossing ("stuffing") the balls into the turkey! I intentionally did not leave tep by step instructions because it takes MORE TIME (thank me later lol) to figure out how to construct the "turkey".

Day 2: Turkey Name Practice
You'll Need:
2 paper plates
Clothespins
brown paint (or crayons or markers)
Yellow, Orange construction paper

Day 3: Book of Thanks
You'll Need:
Recyclable Materials
brown lunch bag
markers, paint, and/or crayons
construction paper
Task: Step 1: Fold each brown lunch bag in half. Punch two holes along the folded edge of the bags.Step 2: From the back, insert the rubber band through each hole. Insert a craft stick through one loop of the rubber band and then through the other loop.Step 3: Create the turkey face. Cut a yellow triangle for the beak. From the red construction paper cut the turkey’s wattle. Add googley eyes.Step 4: Create the tail feathers by cutting a feather shape from recycled paper or magazine pages. Step 5: Glue the tail feathers to to the back of the last page of the book. Cut a piece of brown cardstock paper a little bit larger than the size of the book to cover the back of the tail feathers and help support them.Step 6: Illustrate your book. Add drawing and writing to the inside pages of the book.
